Research and reporting internship

At Adfero we are currently taking applications for our Research and Reporting Internship programme.

A two-week internship focused primarily on the Researcher/Reporter role within the News Feeds division of Adfero, the UK's leading dedicated online news provider. Providing practical, hands-on news experience, the intern will work with a team of writers to help them produce content, developing reporting skills, generating news leads and ideas, and conducting telephone interviews in a B2B environment.

The office-based internship also offers the opportunity to experience some of Adfero's other products, providing an ideal platform to obtain the basics in a broad mix of journalistic skills - including search engine optimisation - at the cutting edge of online media production.


Key responsibilities:
·         Generating news leads and comment
·         Working with a team of writers to help source and research stories
·         Conducting telephone interviews
·         Writing up reports based on interviews

Key skills and experience:
·         Good news sense
·         Strong writing skills
·         Warm and confident telephone manner
·         Highly motivated and tenacious
·         Capable of working independently and as part of a team

Entry level Online Marketing Executive (Temporary)

Location: Central Leeds (W. Yorks)
Salary: 16-17k
Fixed: 6 month (potentially longer)

Supporting around 500 clients, we are looking for someone who is hard working, positive, organised and a self starter but willing to learn. Whilst this role is initially temporary (six months), there is a possibility for this to become permanent.

The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with knowledge of

  • Social media (comfortable with Facebook and Twitter)
  • Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
  • Some knowledge of SEO, HTML, Google Analytics, Photoshop or Fireworks would be beneficial but not essential
  • Willingness to learn

Main duties would include preparation of reports, analysing data, press release submission and creation and population of client social channels.

We have a team booking qualified appointments for our consultants, so we are looking for people who can attend those meetings and use a consultative approach to close sales.

We require people with a proven track record in new business sales ideally over a number of years.  We would like to see experience in the online industry but we are always looking for talented people from a range of industries.
